It was the fellowship that blossomed during the OSEAL Leo Forum in Hong Kong in 2008 that sparked the idea and thoughts of a twinning ceremony between the Leo Clubs of Ipoh Unity & South Kowloon, Hong Kong!
Communication was never put to an end as there will always be Skype, MSN, emails etc etc... the friendship between members of the two clubs continued for weeks after the OSEAl event.. and the idea came by.. an official twinning ceremony!!!! Firstly, the Leo Club of South Kowloon members flew in for a ceremony in Ipoh with Lion Dignitaries like District Governor Kenneth Saw, Multiple District Chairperson for Leo Clubs Lion Dato' Khoo Kay Huat; District Chairperson for Leo Clubs Lion May Cheah.. to name a few.... witnessing a historical event for Region 3! Many Leos from all over the District also turned up for the event!

Flashback: Leo Club of Ipoh Unity's visit to Hong Kong!
Members of the Leo Club of Ipoh Unity were invited by the South Kowloon Leos to teach children from a home to sing in English... truly a great community service project!!!
Go Ipoh Unity!!!!
A night before the Twinning Ceremony in Hong Kong....
the local Leos organized a Fellowship Steamboat dinner with Lions Club of South Kowloon members, Cabinet officers from District 303 (HK & Macau), Leos & Lions from Ipoh!
THE MEMORABLE & HISTORICAL TWINNING CEREMONY!!!!
From left: In-coming President Lion Simon Leong (Ipoh Metro NC), In-coming President Leo Steven Tiw (St.Michael), Ipoh Unity members- Anna, Yau Kin, Chee Kiat, Eliza & Geraldine & RCC Ln Alan Thoo
Here's me, as the Regional Committee Chairperson for Leo Clubs for
Region 3, representative for District 308B2... I had to give a speech in a mixture of
English and Cantonese... haha.. that was fun.
The signing ceremony & exchange of country flags
"I love you with all my heart"...
"Me Too...."
Kidding! The background at the back, and the two of them in
beautiful evening wear... it's certainly "looked" like a wedding ceremony! :P
That's Leo Christine Chan & Leo Foong Chee Kiat giving a speech of
thanks to the all the guests who were present that night!
Approximately 20++ Leo Clubs attended the event!
Left: Leo Foong Chee Kiat (Ipoh Unity) & Leo Christine Chan (South Kowloon)
delivering their word of thanks...
Right: RCC Ln Alan Thoo, Leo Steven Tiw (SMI) & Lion Simon Leong (Ipoh Metro NC)
Truly a night to remember for all!!!
