Give Liew Chon Kong a Chance to Live!!!!!!

A 10-year-old boy suffering from thalassemia since he was one desperately needs a stem cell transplant.

Liew Chon Kong has been undergoing blood transfusions every month at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital since he was four.

Lam Mei Lin, 37, said Chon Kong, the elder of two sons, has been suffering from constant headaches and extreme fatigue since young

“The doctors have said the best option now is to go for the transplant, as frequent blood transfusions put him at risk of an iron overload.

“Such overload can damage his heart and liver,” she told a press conference organised by Johor MCA Public Complaints Bureau chief Chia Song Cheng.

Lam, an administration officer at a factory, added that none of her family members had matching stem cells.She had spent more than RM28,000 to search for a match via the Sultanah Aminah Hospital as well other hospitals in Singapore, but to no avail.

“I have since consulted a transplant team at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, who has informed us that they have found a match.

“However, the suitable stem cells as well as the transplant cost about RM350,000 and the surgery is scheduled for October,” she said, adding that her husband was an air-conditioning technician. Lam added that she had managed to collect RM50,000, but needed help from the public to raise the rest of the amount.

“I appeal to the public for their kindness as my son’s life depends on the surgery,” she said.

Chia hoped people could show their kindness to Chon Kong’s family.

ON BEHALF of the LEO CABINET and District President Eliza, we are setting up a fund to help little Chon Kong. Via Facebook, Lion Alan Thoo raised quite an amount before for 2 individuals. Let's see if Perak Leos, using the same method, can do something about this... and can raise a little something... for Liew Chong Kong?

Let's see if! let's put our hearts together and let's do this!!!! Let's see what all of us can do and come up with in the next 48-72 hours. And let's just do it!

A big BIG Welcome Back to the official Perak Leo Blog... I have recently done a facelift to it, adding new stuff and soon, we will combine more news into one!!!! Right here.. on the Official PERAK LEOS ROAR!, your online portal!!!!

In this fiscal year, 2010/2011, our state of Perak, is divided into Region 4 & 5 following the District's guidelines of Lions Clubs division of regions. Even so, I strongly believe the two regions will still combine our hearts and soul together to bring out the best in leadership, events and activities as PERAK ..... WE ARE ONE!!!

We have just recently completed our RCC meeting and we shall be organizing more projects to build our regions 4 & 5 from leadership training to workshops, community services to health projects and more! Do contact me or Lion Mary Goh for any information that you need. We will be more than happy to be there for you to guide your path to a successful year ahead of you!

If you remember during Lion Alan's briefing at the RCC meeting, he urged all Leo Clubs to SERVE with PASSION as our District Lions theme. It is only with that unconditional Passion that we will be able to be STRONGER THAN BEFORE!!!!!

Also, if you do not know by now, RCC for Leo Clubs Region 4, Lion Mary Goh, was awarded the International President Certificate for her excellent services rendered to the welfare of the community and the upbringing of the Leos in Perak. Also, other Lions in Ipoh who have received this a month back was DC Lion Alan Thoo, Lion Simon Leong, Lion Baki Zainal and myself, all from IMNC Lions Club! We believe as long as you put your hearts to it, and go that distance.. dont turn back.. u wil surely make it! Roar!!!!!

I am also very happy to see that at the start of the fiscal year, we already have a cross regional project taking place... Even though we are from the same state, but Leo Club of Pei Yuan (Region 5 Kampar) and Leo Club of Sam Tet (Ipoh Region 4) combined efforts to visit Vision Home and actually cook for the orphans there! Heeding the call of DC Leo, Lion Alan Thoo at the RCC meeting, the two clubs took up the challenge to MAKE A DIFFERENCE at this visit rather than doing something that has been done before! A big hand to their effort! Keep up that spirit!!! Roar!!!!

Dear Leos,

In lieu of the great response from myself encouraging more cross regional or even cross district projects... I would like to stress on a few main issues prior to committing ya:

i) Parents conset - "Die Die" must get! No questions asked!
ii) School/Lions advisors - Very important to all of you is.. YOU NEED to inform your school authorities and Lions advisors. If they do not allow, please follow the rules then.

As today is the last 2 days as your RCC for Region 3 (now... Region 4 after 1st July), I would like to say that I have learned more from you than you have from me. I have learned patience, determination and the desire to achieve the inevitable. Most of all, I have learned to stay young and healthy. HAHA.

For the Outgoing Leos, if you are staying in Ipoh for now, don't forget that there are 2 active Omega Clubs in Ipoh ready to accept your membership. Just register now.. and when you've finished your Form 5... activate yourself again!! Remember ~ Studies come first! :)

Alright, not going to get all teary... Take care of yourselfs Perak. Don't let me down ya!!! :)

Fishing Fish by Fishermen...

I always like to use Fish and Chicken in my theories and stories. I remember my interview for the Star on the CelebriTeens came out about the "Chicken and the Fish " story.... ha ha ha. you may google that up. Today, I would like to talk about Fishing Fish by Fishermen...

Imagine this... there are many Fishermen groups that set sail everyday.. out to the ocean. To grade these Fishermen... let's separate them to some form of categories.

1. The Fishermen that want to learn, why is it after tons of hardwork, days of endurement, years of torture etc etc... their catch is still low as compare to others
2. The Fishermen that have garnered successful catches everytime they go out.. hugeeeee success every year, but out of a sudden, the catch start to drop!!!!
3. The Fishermen that have problems with their boats, their rod, net, engine.. you name it! The catch is low not because the fishermen is not hardworking. it simply is because they do not have the "equipment", or perhaps, even the knowledge of how to catch better fish... eventhough their equipment is not soooo canggih!
4. The Fishermen who has trouble with manpower...
5. The Fishermen who has issues with the "Fishing" authorities.
6. The Fishermen who don't bother how much fish they catch!!!!
7. The Fishermen whose head is effective, highly energetic, but the others in the team not bothered or motivated to do fishing!!!!

Imagine there's this entire fishing village that has a few groups of fishermen with the attitude as above...

- Some have better boats... faster, more high tech, you name it!!!
- Some have nets and some don't.. some only have rods
- Some have too many head fishermen!
- Some have great head fishermen, but hopeless helpers, or great helpers with lousy heads...!
- Some have problems with the "fishing" authorities.. where the boats are not allowed to set sail at all!!!!!
- Some have their "fathers" and "mothers" trying to over-rule their plans and create issues..
- Some groups are simply not interested at all in fishing!
... bla bla bla... the list goes on and on!!!

When some of the fishermen came home with big catches... or at the ANNUAL FISHERMEN CATCHES OF THE YEAR....some fishermen groups got big catches, or big or many awards of recognition for their hardwork etc etc.... like the BEST FISHERMEN, the FASTEST FISHERMEN, the MOST EFFECTIVE FISHERMEN.....whatever....!

But, REMEMBER......at the end of the day.... it is the FISHERMEN, that went out to the sea.. battled with the storms and calmness of the oceans... it is the hardship that the fishermen endured to get what they so desire to have...TO ACHIEVE THE INEVITABLE.. THE IMPOSSIBLE...!!!!

Hence, the Village Head might just want to say...
"There's no need to thank me cause the catch is done by you and your team! Not me. Cause I just taught you how to fish. I didn't fish for you....It was you who set sail out to the oceans... I was just waiting at the shores for your return"

~ Moral of the story ~
When the fishermen have gained success.... It's not the Village Head's work. It's the Fishermen themselves... that deserve every single recognition! Remember that! Be proud of what you have all achieved...

Twinning Ceremony of Leo Clubs of Ipoh Unity, Malaysia & South Kowloon, Hong Kong

It was the fellowship that blossomed during the OSEAL Leo Forum in Hong Kong in 2008 that sparked the idea and thoughts of a twinning ceremony between the Leo Clubs of Ipoh Unity & South Kowloon, Hong Kong!

Communication was never put to an end as there will always be Skype, MSN, emails etc etc... the friendship between members of the two clubs continued for weeks after the OSEAl event.. and the idea came by.. an official twinning ceremony!!!! Firstly, the Leo Club of South Kowloon members flew in for a ceremony in Ipoh with Lion Dignitaries like District Governor Kenneth Saw, Multiple District Chairperson for Leo Clubs Lion Dato' Khoo Kay Huat; District Chairperson for Leo Clubs Lion May Cheah.. to name a few.... witnessing a historical event for Region 3! Many Leos from all over the District also turned up for the event!

Flashback: Leo Club of Ipoh Unity's visit to Hong Kong!

Members of the Leo Club of Ipoh Unity were invited by the South Kowloon Leos to teach children from a home to sing in English... truly a great community service project!!!

Hey folks!!!

I have been receiving tons of phone calls and emails on the application of awards etc etc! Alright, perhaps, I wasn't too clear the other day with my posting, hence, here we go:

1. Only President, VP, or Secretary to fill up this and email it back to me NO LATER than 25 April. Other individuals, please do not bother sending any please.
2. Scan all relevant supporting documents like newspaper cuttings, Principal recommendation letter (if any), SPM results slips for School Academy Awards etc etc
3. If you are sending more than 1 file, please ZIP the entire file
4. When you send your file, kindly rename the file to:
awards_clubname.doc or awards_clubname.zip
5. You do not need to get any signatures for this form, as it is just a summary. I will still cross check all your applications and information provided with your PAR, MAAR1 & make some phone calls too. Hence, if you only have 20 members, and you put 120 members; OR you didn't do that project, you just went out and snap 2-3 photos of your BOD posing as if you have done the project.. then... Oh well... I will withdraw ALL awards even if you achieve any of them!

Ha ha ha. :) I think, after my strict admission of reports for the last 2 fiscal years..., I strongly believe that you should know by now, what and how to submit your reports as per requirements. :)

It has been great serving Region 3, and I hope that I have done my best to fulfill this position and have brought a change to "LEO-ism" this last 2 fiscal year in Perak. I enjoyed each and every function that I attended, meeting, visit, project etc etc!

I'm very proud of EACH & EVERYONE of you as you have been great LEO B.O.Ds for this fiscal year! I hope that Region 3 can shine in this Leo Forum! Let me correct that.. wait...I'm pretty SURE.. that Region 3.. WILL SHINE!

You all have been through loads of tough trainings, stringen rules & regulations imposed by your sponsoring Lions Clubs, school, etc etc... BUT... look @ where you're at right now! A proud Out-going BOD! Looking back one day... you will definitely tell yourself.. "I made a change in the club! I;m darned proud of it!!!!" ... and that's what/why I'm proud of you all today!

That;s life...! Well, when you go to Uni later, it'll be different lifestyle.. different groups of friends, focus, etc etc. The environment changes, and you have to adapt no matter what. When you finish Uni and start taking that bold step in the hypocritical world of WORKING... you'll (again) have to adapt to the new lifestyle, environment etc etc!

To me.. you fellas are gonna shine! No matter where you are. Cause, no matter come what may, sunshine or rain; running across millions of miles, thousands of oceans, hundreds of rivers... you have that little LION SPIRIT in you that will make you stand up whenever you fall... pick yourself right up no matter come what may!

Even if I'm not going to your next RCC, doesnt really matter. I'm just a phone call away should you need any help ya!!! Do hauler! :) This is my very last duty as the RCC... HAHAHA hence.. let's make my life less miserable and not give me lotz of headaches! :P

Earth Hour..28th March 2009... marked a day and time where the whole world came as one.. united in creating awareness to spread the Global Warming issue + to encourage the idea of consuming less energy...!

The Leo Clubs in Region 3... gathered forces to 'celebrate' Earth Hour together with the Children from Salvation Army Jalan Kampar, Ipoh. Approximately 50 odd Leos attended the event even though it was at night.. but everyone surely had a great time despite of the nasty weather!

Congrats!!!! For whatever you did, Leos from Region 3... we were all
part of the 550Mega Watt reduction of energy usgae in that hour alone!!!

Leos from Region 3 gave a sumptious treat to the Salvation
Army Children before all the programme started!

Before the Earth Hour mark @ 8.30pm, Leos were entertaining the children by playing singing & dancing games!

Everyone was given a small torch light just incase they needed to move
around.. yup...It was 8.30pm already!!!!

In the dark, Leos and Lions continued the fun to play games with the children... RCC Lion Alan Thoo also read out a story and Leos played acting game too!

Supported by WWF, the project is aimed at collecting 1 billion supporters around the globe to be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009!

LEO IDOL Region 3 will be taking place this Saturday & Sunday (8-9 March!!!!). Lots of participants have signed up. Here are the rules again ya!!!!

1. Sign up for auditions
2. 10 will be selected...to proceed to the Regional Finals!!!!
3. At the Regional Finals, you are required to perform 1 song in Round 1.
4. When the results are announced, the Top 2 will proceed to the second round. In Round 1, it will be the judges' decisions.
5. At the second round, the two finalists who made it, will be judged both by the judges and the people who attend the event - 50-50%.

REGION 3 LEOs spent 2 days @ Pulau Pangkor for their Regional Leo Camp!
In this camp, they shared stories, made new friends, learned how to function as
a team and also gotten a chance to visit an old folks home there!!!!

Besides the fellowship, team building sessions & visits... Leos were given
the opportunity to visit the Old Folks Home to spread some New Year cheer
to all the uncles & aunties there by just listening to them.. to their stories +
singing some songs to them & provide some donations too!

Members of the Leo Clubs of St Michael's Institution & Ipoh Metro (O), spent the last few days of 2008 together.. lepaking and gate crashing at parties and events held in celebration of the new year's! They started out by going to Sunway Lagoon in Bandar Sunway, PJ... Obviously that's bigger than the one in Tambun, Ipoh! Loads of fun & activities that included the wet & dry park! The fellowship that bonded was certainly a great experience for each and everyone of them!

Their participation in the event managed to allow people not only from Hong Kong but other countries, recognize the Lion Spirit amongst Leo members from Ipoh Perak! It was one of those "Lawatan Sambil Belajar" trip for 30 odd Leo Club members....only thing is, this is more of a fellowship + charity trip for them!

Initiated by the Anderson Leo Club of Ipoh, the Fellowship Trip to Penang also saw other Leo Clubs from Perak (Pei Yuan Kampar, St Michael's Institution Ipoh & Ipoh Metro (O)) taking part! The tiring 2 day 1 night trip let the Leos shop at Queensbay Mall Penang, one of the latest shopping malls in the Pearl of the Orient! After checking into their service apartments, they left for the venue for the Pot Luck Fellowship Party where other Leo Clubs like Leo Clubs of Chung Ling High School, Georgetown Mutiara, Convent Dato Keramat, Penang City etc etc also attended.

The Leo Clubs of Anderson, Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh Unity (O), Idris Shah Gopeng, Sam Tet Ipoh, SM Poi Lam & St Michael's Institution.. have finally pulled off one of the greatest projects ever organized by Leo Club members... the LEOLYMPICS 2008!!! Running on its second year, the project spanned across 5 days and took over 2 months to plan! Overall Champion was Leo Club of St. Michael's Institution (SMI) who took home the LEOlympics Challenge trophy! The games saw a closing with a special project organized - LEOLYMPICS FIESTA! This project combined efforts of all the Leo Clubs, governmental departments as well as sponsors... We also invited children from 4 orphanages to join in the fun @ the fiesta! In addition to that, Youth Exchangees from Japan also attended the event too!

LEOLYMPICS DAY 4: Basketball

The last game for the LEOlympics 2008 was Basketball! Each club gave their very best in obtaining the final medal in this last game for the LEOlympics 2008! The teams were Pei Yuan (A & B), Anderson (A&B), Sam Tet, SIS & SMI.

Both Pei Yuan teams made it to the finals and claimed the Gold & Silver medal while Anderson took home the bronze medal!

The second day of the LEOlympics saw approximately 50 odd Leos and Lions taking part in the 2ns game - BOWLING!!!! LEOLYMPICS DAY 1: BADMINTON

The Annual LEOlympics is BACK!!! Bigger and better!!!! The Top Project last year was headed by the Leo Club of Sam Tet Ipoh. In the 2nd year, Anderson Leo Club Ipoh took up the challenge to host it and the games began with the Badminton Tournament! This session is handled by the Leo Club of Sam Tet Ipoh. President Leo Tan Inn Shen is seen here giving a short briefing before the tournament started! Approximately 10 clubs in the region took part in the badminton tournament, with Singles and doubles for the men category and singles only for the women category.

FAREWELL GATHERING OF LEO CLUB OF SING CHUNG, SG. SIPUT

The Leo Club of Sing Chung, Sg Siput, Perak, recently organized a farewell gathering for its immediate past Board of Directors, most who have just finished their SPM examinations.

The event started with some speeches and continued with performances from members of the club. Other clubs around the region who attended included Leo Clubs of Idris Shah Gopeng, Anderson & St Michael's Ipoh, Yuk Kwan Batu Gajah and so on. Certificates of appreciation from the sponsoring Lions Club, Lions Club of Ipoh Evergreen, were also given to the club's senior members.

School Service Projects by Leo Clubs in Perak

School service projects are very common amongst Leo Clubs around the world. Those in Perak, Region 3, certainly did not back out on their duties and services to the school, amidst lots of out-of-school projects organized for the community. Leo Club of Poi Lam High School, has done a marvellous job in supporting their school in activities and school programs.

The Leo Club of Poi Lam High School Ipoh, organized an Environmental project to keep it's school clean! That's the way to go!!!!

The Leo Club of Nan Hwa, Sitiawan assisted the school in repainting walls that were "destroyed" with graffiti and they also cleaned up the school for their Graduation Ceremony this year.

Phewwww it! These are members of the Leo Club of SMJK Poi Lam Ipoh! The members put up a fashion modelling show in-conjunction with their school's graduation ceremony for the fifth formers!

The Leo Club of Ave Maria Convent Ipoh participated in the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the school and took charge of the Opening Ceremony!

The Club also organized a simple project where they gave
away pencils to members to prep them for
their final examinations!

Every year in Ipoh, many students aspire to watch out for the St Michael's Institution stage play organized by the school itself. They have put up loads of famed plays and have gained national recognition too! This year, the Leo Club of St Michael's Institution was given the task to assist in the setting up of the stage, hall and some props for their school! This is an important task as the hall and stage needs to be ready for the big day!

The club also assisted the school in preparing the hall for the Opening Ceremony of the new building of their primary school!

INVITATION TO THE LEOLYMPICS 2008
The Leo Clubs of Anderson, Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh Unity (O), Idris Shah Gopeng, Poi Lam, St Michael and Sam Tet would like to invite you and your club members to take part in the up & coming LeOlympics 2008!

This annual event will start on the 17th of December 2008 with the Badminton game and end with a carnival – LeOlympics Fiesta 2008 on the 21st of December 2008. The project is aimed at using sports as a bridge of fellowship amongst members of the Leo Clubs in our region as well as other regions too.

In-conjunction with the Fiesta on the 21st of December, we will also host a special welcoming ceremony for the inbound Japanese Youth Exchange Students from Japan! Besides presentation of prizes, we will also have artists from DiGi CelebriTeen and Gangstarz plus the Anderson Premier Military Band performing on stage to entertain the guests.

In addition to that, we will be inviting children from several orphanages to join in the fun.

We wish to invite you and your club members to attend or take part in any of the listed events, especially the Fiesta, where our Guest of Honour, Yg. Bhg Dato’ Mohd Nor Khalid, or better known to us as Dato’ Lat, will be holding the LeOlympics torch to march into the event to mark the closing ceremony of the event with Lions & Leos! There are also carnival games like Get Wet, Pocket Bike Race, food & drinks and many stalls to keep up the fun of the closing ceremony of the LeOlympics!

MASS CPR @ Ipoh Parade

The Leo Clubs of Anderson and St Michael's Ipoh, assisted and supported the Zone 10 & 11 Lions Clubs @ Ipoh Parade on the 30th of November 2008 in a health project aimed at creating awareness of CPR techniques! The Leos assissted the Lions in the arrangements of chairs and also to support the Lions Project.

After that, the clubs were given a chance to perform CPR on the mannequins. They were taught on ways to perform a CPR and what to look out for, as well as the do's and dont's!

Joint Visit - Leo Clubs of Anderson, Pei Yuan Kampar, SIS & Unity (O)

The Leo Clubs of Anderson Ipoh, Pei Yuan Kampar, Idris Shah Gopeng & Unity (O), organized a joint fellowship lunch in Kampar recently! Pei Yuan Leo Club President, Leo Choo Mun Yee said, "This is a great fellowship especially for my club members as we have never had visitors from Ipoh for a long time, doing a charity project together as well as having a great time laughing and teasing each other!"

Past President of Ipoh Unity (O), Leo Eliza Chia said that even though she is from an Omega club, she felt that participating in this project has been a great experience as she could share her experiences with the younger Alpha Leos too! Eliza, who is also heading a contingent to the up & coming Hong Kong OSEAL Leo project in Hong Kong, will be inviting some Leos from there for a fellowship visit next year!

Leos from all 4 clubs having a great lunch together while chatting and exchanging thoughts and ideas on how to create a better society for everyone...

The Leo members ready to go into the Old Folks Home in Bandar Baru Kampar... unfortunately the management requests us to respect the privacy of the old folks there and we were not able to take photos inside the home. Nevertheless, the Leos were happy that they had spent some great time with the aunties and uncles... and were also taken on a special "tour" around the home by a staff of the management. They also donated rice, noodles, luncheong meat etc to the home

Orientation Seminar + Examinations @ SMJK Kampar

Recently the Leo Club of SMJK Pei Yuan, Kampar, organized a CLD Orientation seminar & Examination for it's members. The best thing is, the club did not just host the exam for themselves, but they also invited other Leo Club members from ACS Kampar, Anderson and Idris Shah Gopeng.

About 40+ members turned up for the seminar and exams. Ms Choon, faculty advisor of Pei Yuan leo Club said, "We are glad that so many Leo Clubs turned up in our school. This certainly have encouraged fellowship amongst one another.

CLD - "E" & "O" Exams in Perak

Do note that Perak will be hosting our own examinations for "EXPERIENCE" & "OPPORTUNITY" on the 17th of December in Anderson School, Ipoh. Kindly register yourself with Leo Eliza (Leo Club of Ipoh Unity) @ angelpariz@yahoo.com or elizachia@hotmail.com.

Only those who have already passed the ORIENTATION examinations can take part. Check with Leo Eliza if you have passed the Orientation examinations.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO TAKE THE "E" & "O" EXAMINATIONS?

i) Top Officers will need to fulfill the requirements of passing at least "E" or "O" before they can qualify for any Top Awards (Individual Category).

ii) Top Club goes to the clubs that have all it's Top Officers passing at least the "E" or the "O" examinations

iii) President must have all the "L", "E" or "O" before they can qualify for the Top President Awards

iv) To further understand the true meaning of being a Leo member

v) To qualify for the next level examination - Proficiency Award in the CLD programme.

BON VOYAGE PERAK LEOS!!! We are very proud to have so many Leos from Perak signing up for the Youth Exchange Program this year!

Even District Chairperson for Leos, May Cheah, came all the way from Penang to say a few words of encouragement for the delegates. Other Lions who were present include RCC Leos Region 3 Alan Thoo, Zone Chairperson Ln. Lau, advisors Ln Mary Goh and Lion Andy Lim.

This was actually a special briefing for the delegates who were leaving for Finland, Japan and Australia in December! The briefing was conducted by Ln Tony Cheong & Ln Roy.

Oldest Club in District 308, ANDERSON LEO CLUB, celebrates its 38th Anniversary!!!

The Oldest Leo Club in Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei, or better known to all of us as the Multiple District 308..Anderson Leo Club (Ipoh), recently celebrated it's 38th Anniversary in a very special way!

Many clubs in the District usually hold such an occasion in their own school hall with loads of activities... or hold an anniversary in a hotel or cafeteria somewhere!

Well, for the Anderson Leo Club, they chose to think out of the box this time round.. and instead of having a big bang celebration, they hosted their Anniversary outside their school... at the Jelapang Old Folks Home! How much more meaningful an anniversary can get by doing so?

Jeremy Goh, Vice President of the Club said, "It is very important that we trace our past records. Recently, I looked at some of our old reports and found out that our seniors in the 1980's actually visit this home very frequently.. ". He added, "By holding our 38th Annversary at the Home, we not only share our joy and happiness with the old folks here, but also remind our members that it is very important that we take good care of our parents in the future and should work very hard so that we can take care of them at their old age..."

Organizing Chairperson, Marcus Choo also added that he was delighted that about 40 members turned up for the event with past Leo members from the club, who are now Lions (Ln Alan Thoo, Ln Kenneth Yeoh, Lion Justin Khoo).. also came and joined in the fun!

Jeremy and Marcus also sang 2 songs in the Karaoke session later. Other members also grouped up to dedicate songs to the old folks to bring music to their ears!

The Leo Club of Sam Tet, located in the heart of Ipoh (Capital of the state of Perak, Malaysia), recently hosted a special project that tapped into the young talents of their very own students themselves. The project, MUSIC ~ The Essence of Life, provided a platform for members of the Leo Club and also other students of the school to put up musical performances to entertain guests and Leos from other schools like Anderson, Ave Maria Convent, Pei Yuan Kampar and many more!

Welfare Projects by Leos in Perak

The Leo Club of Ipoh Unity members paid a visit to the Precious Gift Home. Eventhough only 3 members attended, they brought clothing, bags and toys to the kids.

They spent some good quality time there and the children loved their presence. "We hope more Leo Clubs will be able to provide more of such visits to help ease the burden of the caretakers, and sometimes these children just want an extra companion to play with or talk to", said Mr Morris, their Chief caretaker.
